SIGHT SEEING

23rd Nov 2016

After disappointing with a winless season 2014-15, Price Bloodstock product Sight Seeing bounced back on Wednesday night as a result of the silver lining that came with that.

Sight Seeing kicked off his career in good style in 2014 with two Sha Tin victories that pushed his rating into the 60s and trainer Chris So said the horse had struggled to live up to a Class 3 figure and was unlucky at the draw even when his rating dropped again.

“If you look at his draws last season, I think he drew barrier 14 four times out of his nine starts and had a couple of other bad barriers too,” explained So. “So he found it hard to get into form and wasn’t able to win. He is honest but limited and he couldn’t overcome that.”

As a result of all those unplaced runs, Sight Seeing returned for this campaign off a 46 rating and has returned a cheque at three of four runs leading up to his win on Wednesday night.

“He is drawing good barriers now and after dropping so far in the ratings he is handicapped to win again too. Neil Callan gave him a perfect ride and he was suited by the C+3 track. He won’t go up much for that so he could win another one in his current form.”

The win pushed Sight Seeing to almost $2 million in prize money.
