IVICTORY

16th July 2016

There were a few nervous moments while Joao Moreira worked his magic but Price Bloodstock finished the 2016-17 Hong Kong season in style on Sunday at Sha Tin when promising Ivictory added a third win to his first campaign with his future still all ahead of him.

Ivictory quickly showed himself above average this season when he won on debut in spectacular style down the straight and trainer John Size highlighted the three-year-old’s commitment and attitude after he narrowly scored in Class 3 to wind up his season.

“He found himself in quite a tight spot in between horses there and he’s only a little horse, so getting into a wedge like that is always problematical for a small horse,” Size said. “But he didn’t get bumped around too much, found the room in time to get clear and he showed his courage and his engine in the last 100m, which he has done before and it’s a good sign.”

Size believes the first campaign of three wins from four appearances sets up Ivictory well for his return after the summer break as a stronger specimen.

“I’m very happy with him, he’s done a good job,” he said. “He’ll turn four in a couple of weeks, hopefully he grows and strengthens a little during his break and I think he can take himself higher in the ratings next season.”
