VOLITATION

20th Nov 2016

Price Bloodstock’s Volitation is making a great fist of his Hong Kong career under premier trainer John Size and continued his progress with a convincing win in Class Three on Sunday at Sha Tin.

Given a lovely box seat run by Joao Moreira, the four-year-old scored his third win over the 1,400m course from his 11 starts, took his stakemoney to within sight of $2 million and gave Hui Sai-fun, Hong Kong’s most successful owner, his 97th race win.

“I like this horse, he’s doing a good job,” said Moreira. “He is not complicated, he has some tactical speed which is suitable for 1.400m races and when he gets a nice run like he did today, he is hard to get past. He is a typical John Size horse, coming through Class Four and making the improvement to Class Three successfully. He just keeps getting better every time and he won clearly today so maybe there is another win to come.”

Volitation is a son of the Melbourne Cup winner Shocking, a sire that Price Bloodstock has been having some luck with in Hong Kong as multiple winner Love Shock is also a son of Shocking.
